After a long time without drawing I took my sketchbook and started to draw the Page of Swords. Yes sometimes I like to draw from a Rider Waite tarot
card. The pictures are rather simple and it pushes me to look at the details in
the card. It took me longer than usual because I had to stop several times (neck L), but I am very pleased with it.J
Dang woman, that is GOOD! I believe you could give the Pixie (PCS) a run for her money! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks you sooo much! This means a lot to me. You've made me smile :)
DeleteThat's just lovely, Ellen! I've done little sketches of cards sometimes, and as you say, it's a great way to think about the meaning of all the elements. Still, I'm not going to upload any of mine, because I am REALLY not an artist in the way you are! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks you're so kind!, I think that every "artist" feels vulnerable about his art. It was a huge step to post this for me to. What happened with our childlike confidence when we used to put all our pictures on the fridge? :D
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad you took that step, this really is beautiful. And it's good for you to hear that, too, as it's true :) As for the fridge thing, I never did that. I really didn't like drawing as a kid. I like it more now, but I haven't much practice (though I'm working on it). I hoped that having kids I'd get to play around and draw with them, but my son doesn't yet have the fine motor control for such things :(
DeleteYes, I think the little kid inside has to hear :"Good Job".
DeleteAnd as for your drawings; I'm sure there're just fine to. We are our own worst critics :D
Have you tried finger-painting with him?
Not recently, I must admit. He tends to get bored of it very quickly, which given the level of mess and clean-up required has put me off...
