Give me courage to clear the old

Lately I am particularly drawn to the Wildwood Tarot and The Faeries Oracle. In readings for myself I just mix them up and they blend perfectly. Just as today: My daily draw was the Seven of Bows – Clearance. This card is a good reminder of letting go projects, idea’s and habits, which are not longer of any use or help for me. This will make room for new endeavors and practices. Clearing the old will release energy that was clung to my dusted, worn and stale convictions. But hey, knowing this is a healthy thing to do, doesn’t ‘t mean it’s easy. What’s more comforting than a pair of worn slippers with holes and torn stitches. Let’s face it we love familiar habits and idea’s. They give us the illusion we are in control and everything is alright. But deep down you know it’s not. Something is wriggling inside and it wants to have space to grow.

So I picked up my Faeries’ Oracle and asked: Who is willing to  help me with clearing the old? I shuffled and drew : The Singer of Courage! In this deck the singers are compared to angels. They are pure energy and are radiating their qualities throughout the Universe (One Song) with their own tune. They can be seen as our guides in this world. So this means I have to open up to receive courage and at the same time to be willing to find courage in myself.
Anyhow, it’s obvious I can’t have it all: and my comforting, old, time and energy consuming habits and exploring my creativity, wanting to meditate and exercise more…and the list goes on. Again for me this was an insightful reading with my two favorite decks

  1. For me personally, courage is like intuition - it only develops and grows stronger when I act on it.

    1. I agree, but acting upon it is for me more difficult than trusting my intuition. I am not that brave (yet) :D

  2. What a great pair of cards for creating forward movement. I have so much to say and so little time to say it. I made a list of unfinished projects. Made a private blog and photographed and itemized each one. Just doing that helped me just get rid of 3 of them I think, and gave two away. And over about 3 years I finished the rest and deleted the blog. How many unfinished projects do I have now? Two. I can live with that, gotta have something to look forward to, a finish is a wonderful thing!

    1. Hi Sharyn. I like to get organized too. It gives me an overview and I find that relaxing. I am the queen of lists.:)
I like to finish projects but sometimes I start something and then I loose interest. That's when I definitely have to let go.

    2. I love this idea, Sharyn. A private blog full of unfinished business. What a great concept! xoxox

  3. It is not easy, I think it's a process, and it takes the times of each person; to review, to analyse, to considerer all the posibiities, the pros and the cons and to think which are the things I'm going to clear.
But definitely not my old sandals (here are "ojotas", a kind of slippers I use in summer) which I love :)
Take your time .) and Muchas Estrellas!!!!!!!!

    1. Thanks and yes this isn't something you do over night. If it were that easy we wouldn't be talking that much about it. :D
      Many stars to you to!

  4. Very nice! I've never used two decks at the same time, but you're right. These two do go nicely together. I've also never thought of asking who would be willing to help me with my challenges and goals. I'll have to incorporate that question into some of my readings. Asking for help is not easy for me, and I need to do it more.

    1. These are the first two decks that I have been using together and I am very pleased with it. I feel like they complement each other rather well. The Faeries from the oracle could just as well live in the Wildwood
Asking isn't easy for me either. Asking The Universe for help is something I can if I have to, but asking a real person for help is so much harder.

  5. I love using more than one deck at a time, or cross-referencing meanings in various decks. Each deck has something to contribute by way of personality. It's great! I like this. I may have to do this next time I use this oracle. But I don't own the Wildwood. I thought about buying it one time--I may have to at least buy the app. :)

    1. For cross-referencing I use Orphalese. That's a tarotprogram that lets you compare cards form different decks. Cards can have so many different layers of meaning. I love that about tarot and oracles.
Perhaps you have an other deck to pair up with the Faeries' Oracle?

  6. Ha, yes, that will definitely take courage. Still, seems like the new is just blossoming in you, ready to grow if you have the courage to let it :) Lovely reading, Ellen!

    1. Isn't It lovely that we can blossom and bear out fruit over and over again. Like a tree's cycle during the seasons, we too have our up and down periods active and recuperate time. And we have to cut away dead branches to make room for new sprouts. :)

  7. What an interesting combination of decks. I am really intrigued by this. I love both so may have to walk your path a bit to see how that goes for me. :D
