Three of Coins and Two of Cups – Carefully moving closer …

I have been working with the Margarete Petersen Tarot for twelve days in a row now and I can’t seem to put it away and pick up another deck for my daily draws. I am utterly captivated by the beautiful artwork and clear and inspiring messages this deck has to offer.

So for today, I drew the Three of Coins. Where the Two of Coins showed us two balancing feet, in this card we only see one. That means one foot has been lifted and is about to be put forward into a new direction; leaving old familiar patterns behind. The card also features the Om sign, which for me resembles a short prayer, said just before this foot will touch the earth. A prayer of trust that this will be the right path to follow.

And where, I wondered, might this path lead me? And I got the Two of Cups: Opening myself up to others and myself on an emotional level. A sense of belonging is essential to all living beings. It feels when I really open up to myself and to God it is so much more easy to open up to others as well. This card is all about giving and receiving and about loving kindness without expectations. Quite a challenge for me but not one I want to shy away from.

I love that this card strongly relates to The Lovers, which is my card for this lunation.

The Two of Cups – Mirror, mirror…

My card for today is the Two of Cups from the Original Rider Waite tarot. This is the card about our relationships. Much like the Lovers but for me more about how we approach our loved ones on a daily base. In this card we see two people looking at each other and offering one and other a cup filled  with… probable lots of feelings and emotions and if we’re lucky with unconditional Love. They will except the cups without hesitation because they know and trust that what is in it will be beneficial and wholesome for the heart.

Relationships are our most profound teachers. We learn so much from the ones we love and care for. They are often like a mirror for our own feelings and  they are able to ignite dormant emotions in a split of a second. Sometimes we fight. We have to fight to resolve these unprocessed issues.  After releasing bottled up emotions like an angry or sad little child, it  is possible to start communicating on a more adult level. Only with people whom I absolutely trust, I find the courage to work through matters of the heart. And only from people whom I absolutely love, I do accept those emotional outbursts and possible conflicts. Because in these kind of relationships there is complete trust in and a profound acceptance of who we truly are.

”La Loba” Tarot Spread

Yesterday I stumbled upon a very interesting tarot spread made by Vickie from EternalAthena Tarot: the “La Loba Spread”. She was inspired to create this spread after reading the first chapter of  “Women Who Run With the Wolves” by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes. In this chapter the story is told about La Loba; the Wolf Woman. The story tells us about how important it is to recover the lost “bones” of our inner Wild Woman and to become whole again. Since I love this book so much I was very excited to try this spread:

I’ve used the Raven’s Prophecy Tarot by  Maggie Stiefvater because the energy of this deck feels rather wild and primal and it speaks to the more concealed (wild) parts of me.

1 Who is the “Wild Woman” within? – The Two of Cups

This card is all about relationships with  lovers, friends and family and of course with myself and it tells me that my Wild Woman loves me enough to stay true to myself in any relationship. She urges me to cherish en love myself so much that I dare to love another as well without the fear of loving too much and losing myself or the other again.

Where do I go to gather my bones? – The Six of Swords

By taking a step back and by reflecting on what went wrong. Taking the time to figure out which idea’s and feelings I can release and don’t need to cling on any longer. Just open my hands and let go… Then there will be room for new, more empowering ways of thinking about Love and Trust. Being a Swordy woman, reflecting and journaling about my thoughts is like to gathering bones to me

Five of Cups and Two of Cups and: opening up for new love

For today I've picked the Five and the Two of Cups from the Original Rider Waite Tarot face up, for they  represent so perfectly how we are experiencing some conflicting feelings these last few days.

Saturday morning we went for our lovely fluffy Jofee and we are enjoying him so very, very much. He is bringing so much life and joy into our home. Therefore it surprised us a lot that out of the blue there were feelings of intense sadness because how could he ever take Tara’s place. Tara who was embedded in our family, who needed less than  a word to understand us and knew exactly what we wanted.

With Jofee, we have to start all over from scratch, teaching him everything and somehow this feels very overwhelming, especially in the evening, when we are so tired. All this felt very much like the Five of Cups. Focusing too much on what we have lost instead of on what we were given: a new chance to be happy again with our little puppy.

Gradually we are moving from this card to the Two of Cups. Getting to know  and appreciate one and other without expectations and comparisons to former love. In other words falling in love all over again. We are making new memories with our little fellow and love grows quickly stronger, deeper and we are beginning to forge unbreakable bonds. Our hearts will  grow the more we love. There is room enough for everyone 

Two of Cups - Keeping the balance together

For today I've drawn the Two of Cups from the Joie de Vivre Tarot. I like this depiction of the two owls a lot because their gender isn't obvious. This way I can read this card quite simply as two becoming one. For me today they symbolize my daughters. They can get, like every other two siblings, really on each other’s nerves. Sometimes irritation is building up and emotions are running high.

These two lovely owls are holding a garland made of love and harmony. Their two cups are running over with affection for each other. Further you can see all kinds of little symbols for love and union in this depiction. This is telling me about the strong foundation of love between my girls. Over the years they have learned to meet each other halfway, to straighten things out and make amends.

This card is about opening up to one and other and communicate how you feel inside;  to really listen and respond to each other. In my opinion communication is crucial in every relationship. Only then you can keep the balance in such a tiny spot, holding a garland and look in each other eyes without tumbling down.
