Today’s
rune is Sowilo (Sun). This is the rune of success, vitality, self-actualization
and positive energy. A very welcome reminder for me to get out of my comfy
chair and do something, anything, to get out of the slump in which I am finding myself
lately. I am the only one who can take back the wheel and start the ignition to continue
my journey. I know how it works; I have been in a situation like this more
than I care for but somehow when I am stuck in a rut, I seem to have forgotten
how to climb out of it.
So I asked what could help me to achieve this and I got the Six of Wands from the Anna K Tarot. Not my most favorite depiction
of the this card but it will do for today! I feel this card has come up to remind
me that it is not about the final big victory, the “I am feeling and victorious
every day of my life now”. No, today this card reminds me of the smaller, seemingly
insignificant victories. When you are feeling depressed this could be as simple as getting out of bed, brushing
your teeth, taking a stroll, reading a few pages in a novel, making dinner etc.
These are some of the most basic activities of
our life but some days, we may count them among our victories and celebrate
them and be grateful we have achieved them; again.
So today I
am going to be mindful of my achievements, how small they may be and celebrate each and every one of
them with a feeling of joyful
satisfaction.
Those small victories seem so much more doable. Thank you for reminding me of this today. :) All those small steps will gradually add up, and eventually I will be pleasantly surprised to find myself in a new, sunnier place!
ReplyDeleteYes they do indeed. In hindsight we often do a lot more than we give ourselves credit for. I hope to meet you in that sunnier place very soon :)
DeleteI agree. Easy to forget our many victories as we move to the next and the next and the next...Why it's good to keep a journal...
DeleteYes Long live our journals! For today and the next couple of days I will write down everything I have accomplished. Right

ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI love that the rune and card for today reinforce each other
ReplyDeleteYes I was quite surprised by that as well. It 's a perfect pair
DeleteSing my friend. Do lots of singing. Find a happy rhythmatic tune and sing. I love the song "On a Clear Day" sung by Barbra Striesand, I like the movie too. Or be like the Seven Dwarfs, whistle while you work.
ReplyDeleteI'll try. Maybe I'll start with humming first. I didn't know the song "On a Clear Day" but now I do thanks to You tube Thanks!!
DeleteLove how the Rune mirrors the movement of the victory flag. Yellow comes through loud and clear here, both with the Rune and the card. All that solar plexus energy makes me think tiger's eye would be a supportive stone if only to gaze at. And Warrior pose, too is good for the solar plexus. Both simple things. But as you said, the small, daily tasks are actually not so small. I like to think of them as local deities, tying us to this world, grounding and locating us. Hugs to you, my dear.
ReplyDeleteHA, thank you for noticing!!!
DeleteOr local deities who need regular worship. Doing the dishes cleaning the toilet etc can be grounding and spiritual at the same time
"Before Enlightenment chop wood carry water, after Enlightenment, chop wood carry water." :)
Hugs
I am so on board with you in terms of recognizing the "small" achievements (I suppose "small" is subjective!!). So often we have lofty expectations, and when we don't reach them we feel we have failed in some way. But I think it is the small things that ultimately create the foundation for bigger changes to manifest.
ReplyDeleteI have been listing my "smaller" Achievements fro tow day now and it already makes me feel better about myself. Hopefully rom this feeling bigger changes will arise :)
