Two creatures
are walking quietly in a dark forest. Each following their own path:
A warrior woman
with her crow is carefully putting one foot before the other, expecting to be
ambushed any moment from now. Behind every tree there could be lurking a potential and ruthless
enemy. There is only one way forward and there is no room for mistakes, because
she knows that the tiniest mistake could be paid for with her life.
A hedgehog
is scurrying between the rustling leaves, acorns and other autumnal seeds and
fruits. The hedgehog is grateful for these small gifts from Mother Nature and while
enjoying his meal he is always keeping an eye out for signals of danger. But he
is not afraid. He knows he is more than capable to protect himself and so he
strolls further over the crunching leaves without worrying about the sniffing and
chewing and all the little noises he makes.
Two
creatures are walking in the forest; Who are you or maybe you are a bit of both?
(Ace of Pentacles and Eight of Swords from the Tarot of The Hidden Realm)
I love the Ace of Pentacles in this deck. Sums up everything I like about Autumn, falling leaves in rich tones, fresher air, renewed energy... I could live all year in this season.
ReplyDeleteMe too!!! I am so happy Autumn has finally arrived in my country today!! Now I can be the best me of the year :)
DeleteSuch piercing blue eyes she has! Yet, does she see clearly, her own fears and assumptions tainting her perceptions. I think I'm more the hedgehog, today, living life and being, enjoying what is 😊
ReplyDeleteGradually I am shifting from always expectation the worst to happen to accepting the beauty of this moment. I think sharing thoughts with you all has been a huge part of this change
DeleteToday I am the hedgehog. :) When my mind wants to make me paranoid, I always try to remember to ask it, "Where's the evidence?"
ReplyDeleteI think the hedgehog's mentality is the wisest one. But your question about evidence makes the Eight of Swords less imminent. I suppose she has her good qualities too :)
DeleteI'd say I'm a bit of both. I do my best to walk the more carefree path of the hedgehog and enjoying the special moments, but it can be hard sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI really love both of these cards. The Ace of Pentacles because of all the Autumn colors, my favorite season. And the Eight of Swords because that woman is so captivating. Plus I'm quite fond of corvids (like my username doesn't give that away...lol).
We are much alike my dear friend! Let's be grateful we both have those hedgehog moments
DeleteI like watching corvids too but not so much listening to them :)
beautifully worded post. Lovely deck
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharyn! It was so much fun writing this.
DeleteWe do what we are or is it we are what we do? The hedgehog goes about her/his life doing what comes natural to her/him. We are the ones that are trained to be fearful. Our parents teach us at an early age "no" don't do that, touch that, go there, stranger danger."
ReplyDeleteYou're so right. I've been raised by a very fearful mother and I probable have passed this on to my girls (sorry).
