Chaos – Trying to find a way out

When letting go by ourselves (see yesterday's post) is too difficult life has a way to assist us....
Vision Quest Tarot Chaos Spirit Guide

Today’s card is Chaos, aka The Tower, from the Vision Quest Tarot. We see a horse rearing up in a burning forest. He is clearly frightened and he is feels trapped.. There is now way to escape  because the fire and the smoke are surrounding him. The only thing to do is trying to stay calm and hide away from the wind. Eventually the fire will make way for greener pastures. The question is how do we get to that point since we are clearly not having a great day.
And I pulled the Spirit Guide. (Judgement) To be honest I don’t have a lot of experience with spirit guides or spirit animals. I would love to meet one someday but for now it’s just me and my intuition or my higher self. Listening to the soft inner voice is hard. Taking the time and becoming quiet enough be able to hear the voice is sometimes even harder; we are often in such a hurry. This card encourages us to notice the little miracles in our life; the “road signs” along the way. So not only listening but noticing small details too. Mmmm, that is starting to sound a lot like living in the present moment and being mindful of how we experience life on a daily base.

Maybe if we would have been more mindful to begin with, we could have prevented the forest fire? Or do we welcome Chaos to help us to clear old and dead wood?

  1. Keeping an eye out for those road signs is a good idea; it's so easy to get caught up in what we need to do we forget to stay in the present. Perhaps a guide could be like a mentor?

    1. Maybe, I honestly don't know. But being mindful is a maybe good start to discover our guides or their messages :D

  2. Your paintings feels like they're guided by Spirit...they speak from a place of authenticity and beauty. I always rest a while in that space when you share them. hugs

    1. Aw thank you so much Rose. Maybe you're right and creativity could be a channel to communicate with our guides. This reminds me that it's been more than two weeks since I've touched my art supplies.

  3. Wow! Your two cards mirror the knights that I have been drawing this week. 3knights in the one card seeking their companion in the Tower card. Help will always be available, we just have to ask for it. Hard when we tend to isolate ourselves.

    1. I just wrote in a reply to Rose that I havent been drawing or painting in more than two weeks. I could call that a form of isolating myself from Spirit too :)
Asking is good but maybe just as hard as listening to our inner voice.

    2. We both know you can never force yourself to do anything. Your art is such an integral part of you that when it is ready to be expressed you will draw and or paint. So until such time enjoy the art of life around you. Sunrises, sunsets, breezes whispering through the leaves, a chorus of birds. You know.

  4. Interesting questions, Ellen. I think it's probably both depending on the circumstances: sometimes we could avoid the fire through greater mindfulness, and sometimes it's good to invite the cleansing. And other times maybe neither, it's just a bolt from the blue, but the important thing is how we deal with the aftermath: whether we can connect to those spirit guides in whatever form to heal and grow :)

    1. It is often not the circumstances which define us but how we respond too them. And finding a connecting with the divine is sometimes difficult but always worth it :)
I hope you can retrace you steps soon my friend

  5. It's really interesting how the horses in the Spirit Guide card appear to walking into Chaos. There is some sort of comfort there, in the idea that "chaos" is a part of life, and as you say, part of that cycle lies in the assurance that the grass will one day grow again. I think it's also comforting to imagine that we are always being watched over, especially in those darkest of times. I am glad you are enjoying this deck so much - the art is really wonderful! <3

    1. Yes Olivia it is a very special deck in many was. Your comment reminds me of these Lyrics:
"But I can't stop the rain from falling down on you again
But I can't stop the rain but I will hold you 'til it goes away"

Third Day - When The Rain Comes Lyrics
