Today’s
Rune is Hagalaz (hail). This is the rune of disruption, sudden drastic changes
and loss. Nothing to look forward too. So instead of being scared of what today
might bring and hide under the covers until this day is done, I asked: "What do I
need to be able to cope with the energy of Hagalaz?" And I pulled the Six of Wands
from The Fountain Tarot and what a gorgeous Six of Wands this is. It is almost as if the victor is lifted by light but when you look closely you see the other figures carrying him. When we are victorious it is also good acknowledge which part others have played in our victory.
The
guidebook calls this card: "Hope and Motivation" and this reminds us of everything we have overcome in this lifetime already. In some situations we were victorious in others we merely survived but we are still here; alive and
kicking. From those past experiences we can receive hope for the future that whatever comes our way, we can deal with it one way
or another.
For me
today this card encourages me to keep walking my path even though it leads me through
hail storms and icy weather. I am confident
that I will find my spiritual balance again because I have done so many times before.
This card feels like an protective umbrella for any kind of bad weather
Hagalaz reminds me of impermanence. I look out at my little flower garden and where there were once blooms, there are now brown, dried up stems. But I know those blooms had seed heads at the end of the season, and some of those seeds will sprout in the spring! :)
ReplyDeleteThat makes me wonder which is the real victor, the blooming flower in Summer or the seed in Winter? :)
DeleteSee it all as a whole process instead of individual parts maybe?
Deletehihi, I knew you would give me this answer. Just after I hit the publish button I thought of this myself too. :D
DeleteSometimes I have to stop and clarify to myself, everyone is walking the path whether they realize it or care. Sometimes that makes me a drama queen, other times it lifts the load. So I keep walking.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with a little drama now and then as long as we don't wallow in it. When we keep moving everything always changes. :)
DeleteThis combination makes me think about leadership - even when times are tough you can behave in a way that would be a guide to others... :) I love your description of the Six of Wands being like an umbrella to protect you from inclement weather!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chloe. Yes even during difficult times our personal struggle can motivate others to never give up.
DeleteThat Six is such a perfect complement to Hagalaz. It buoys the spirits to imagine that difficulty calls forth help and support.
ReplyDeleteIt does indeed Nothing is all black and white. Even from the worst of situations something good can arise :)
DeleteLovely interpretation. Love the umbrella statement. And, remember after every storm the sun reappears. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cher I will. Have a wonderful week yourself too! :)
DeleteI drew the Six of Wands today. There are days you look in the mirror and frighten yourself and there are days you look in the mirror and you know you have never looked better. To everybody else we appear the same. This six says lets go get 'em! You have a 'Go Get Em' week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolyn! It does feel like my Winter blues are slowly passing by.
DeleteThe Six of Wands is definitely one of my favorite cards. I love your observations. I think this card is definitely saying your path will definitely come back around :)
