Yesterday
I've finished my painting of the Feminine. I was inspired to make this painting by Connie Hozvicka from Dirty footprints Studio. She
promotes an intuitive way of painting called Fearless Painting®
First I will show
you a few pictures from the painting process, so keep scrolling for the
finished painting. The painting is made with acrylic paint and oil pastel.
Note how
I've turned the painting. I originally was going for a landscape with mountains
in the shape of a woman. It literally “turned” out differently
My gosh, she is LOVELY! Thank you for letting us see the process that became the finished product. I see a lot of nurturing, compassion and protection in this painting - a safe haven full of love. I really like how you used the green highlights too! (Thanks for the excellent photos M!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bev. I like to make some pictures of the process, because I tend to forget where the end result is coming from.
DeleteI will pass the compliment! the last photo does resembles the actual colors best.:)
Very good indeed! Awesome process, and beautiful work Ellen. I love the depth of field and the colour. Gives it a three dimensional and sculptural quality. Would also make a beautiful sculpture!
ReplyDeleteOMG Catherine what a great idea. I am definitely going to do this. When the weather changes and it gets colder I am going to buy some natural clay and give it a go
DeleteThanks!!!
Love seeing your process and sharing your creative journey
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Sharyn! :)
DeleteWow, what an amazing painting. You have talent, that's for certain. Congrats on getting back into the groove of your artist ways. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Cher it feels very happy to be there!
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Ellen! As others have said, I really value seeing the process, too. It's like a little insight into how to paint, as well as into your own inner process… :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerry. Painting this has been such an amazing adventure. Yes, ha ha, it is like you almost can peek over my shoulder while I'm painting and contemplating my next move :D
DeleteWOW. It's amazing journey from the first to the last!
ReplyDeleteHi Arwen. Thank you so much! :)
DeleteThat really is stunning, Ellen. I love the face. You really do this kind of thing so well! I really do enjoy to see your artworks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve.Yes with the face I sort of the put the last dot on the i. :D
DeleteI don't know about the Anna K ...
DeleteI am just waiting for the Ellen K ;)
Majorly. Unsubtle. Hint.
What a lovely compliment!
DeleteMaybe an one day I have enough paintings for an oracle deck :)
I would definitely love to see something in this style. It is very emotive and the lack of detail in the features makes her even more accessible (in the same way I wanted my silhouettes to be accessible to everyone and not constrictive).
ReplyDeleteThat is why I don't like "real" people in a card. They confine your interpretation and possibility to identify with them.
DeleteFor the same reason I've made Waldorf dolls for my girls They hardly have any facial expression, so they can be happy sad and angry. :)
Ohhhh! Ellen! I love it! It's very beautiful, it radiates love, light and tenderness. Interesting process and congratulations for your excellent artwork! Thank you for sharing. Big kiss and Muchas Estrellas!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks you so much for you kind words Las Magas!!
DeleteAnd for always being so supportive
Hugs!!
