Ace of Swords - When lightening strikes...

Ace of Swords Wild UnknownTarot Kim Krans Blog blogger
Today's card is the Ace of Swords from the Wild Unknown Tarot. This card is all about sudden clarity and spontaneous insights. A card of truth and inspiration. The two lightning bolts emphasize both the swiftness as the brightness of this energy. You have to be mindful of these flashes of insight; ready to catch them if they present themselves to you. This means we have to create open space in our mind for the lightning to strike.
Yet too often we keep our mind occupied by repeating the same old, same old over and over again. So how do we go about getting this open space?
Creating free headspace doesn't mean we have to sit on our cushion the whole day long. It is more about being busy with our hands and/or moving our body. Everything which occupies our mind just enough to keep it from obsessing and moving in circles.
My brightest ideas come to me when I am going for a walk or when I am taking a shower.
Where or when does your lightning tend to strike?

  1. I like that "create open space in our mind" which is so clutter with all those bits of this n that, that we don't give something new a second thoughts because we can't, no room. Something to think on. Nice post.

  5. I'm another big fan of walking :) I also get flashes of insight and new ideas from the cards. Really, I can't imagine ever tiring of them! And when tapping or meditating new perspectives come in, or I truly get emotionally behind something which until then had only been a spark - it fans the fire of my imagination :D

  6. Wow, it's so eerie how we seem to find ourselves in the same frame of thought. Make room for creativity in the brain chatter - this is so important!
Of course, the tarot is a great way to get a spark. When I was actively writing my fiction, sparks occurred constantly. My brain was free of the chatter.
That is where I hope to find myself, very soon. (Currently using fifteen minute writing sessions and purposely working away at my backlog/to-do list. Attempting to create a successful day to day method to get things done around a full-time job.) :)
