Today’s card
is the Eight of Cups from the Wild Unknown Tarot. Our eight cups are shattered,
broken beyond compare and a dark almost impossible to climb mountain is blocking
our way. When we find ourselves on the dark side of this mountain, it is very
hard to imagine there could be light on the other side and trees and flowers
growing there. So what to do now in such
a precarious situation and I pulled a Soulcard. At first glance I would say: Stay
put, don’t change and pretend to be happy where ever you are right now. But I have
been playing this game too long to fall for this initial thought. The message
today is to open your eyes, acknowledge your broken cups, feel you fear and start
climbing. Fear is a devourer of energy. So face it, name it and disempower it
and feel a jolt of energy being released from its shackles. And you're lucky, for there is no need to pack because inside, you already
have everything you need for the journey. Bon voyage!
Interesting pair of cards! I see what you mean about your first impression being to "wait" or stay put. I can also read it as saying "stop". "Stop" ignoring the truth. "Stop" making excuses and move onward.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your input! I love how these cards can carry multiple meanings
DeleteThe Eight of Cups may seem disheartening, but to me it speaks of awareness - realizing not only that I'm unhappy, but that it is up to me to go in search of what will fulfill me instead of being miserable where I am. That face in the Soul Card looks like someone trying to push out of the bubble she's in! :)
ReplyDeleteYes,she is definitely pushing at something! Other versions of the Eight of Cups often feel more like a relief to let go of a unfulfilling situation. Perhaps because in those we see a figure who has already begun to cling the mountian
DeletePermission to unshackle?
ReplyDeletegranted :)
DeleteGreat advice for me as well, to forgive my faux pas of yesterday.
ReplyDeleteEveryday is new oppertunity when we learn to forgive our past mistakes
DeleteI new opportunity to goof up again and again till I start having a bit more compassion with myself.
DeleteThis is a great duo. I often call the 8 of Cups the "soul searching" card. It asks you to dive in, swim the waters of your inner spirit and heart, and as you say, name the source of your discontent... in order to move through it and reach that new vantage point at the top of the mountain. Happy journeying, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed a great name of this card and very apt for me too.
DeleteThank you my dear!
