Six of Air – Clarity

vision quest tarot Six of Air Clarity
Today’s card is the Six of Air from the Vision Quest Tarot. Instead of sailing away in a small boat to seek calmer waters  and repose on a distant shore, this card is asking me to stop right here, right now and ask myself: how I am doing? How do I feel? What is on my mind? What does my body tell me? Do I live accordingly to my inner truth? What is my inner truth? etc.  The main question is: Do I live a balanced  and harmonious life or are there one or more aspects which deserve some loving attention from my part.
Yes, I suppose there are parts of me that feel a bit out of balance. The main issue is my lack of discipline to maintain a spiritual practice and my frustration about it.  This pattern is also applicable to my creative endeavors. It’s funny because going to the gym doesn’t cause me any problems at all. So what to do about it?
vision quest tarot Spiritual WarriorThe Spiritual Warrior comes to the rescue. It’s funny because I don’t get a warrior vibe from this card at all. I suppose his battle is with his inner demons. He is on a quest for inner peace and balance. He listens to his intuition which tells him which way to go and what to do next. His heart is open for guidance from Spirit. This card teaches me not to plan so much ahead but to take life step by step and to try to be fully aware of where I am right now. Like many of us my day can be very chaotic and busy and filled with distractions and requests for attention. So often my mind is all over the place. Then I feel frustrated because the things I like most are the ones that stay on the back burner. So for today I am going to present with and enjoy what I am doing without worrying if everything I want to do gets done. Tomorrow is another day with new opportunities.

A quest for inner peace will last a  lifetime.

  1. Someone I recently spoke with went on a sort of Spiritual Quest. She did a five day retreat. No speaking, no phones, no tv, no nothing. The center supplied dining but the rest you were left to yourself. She said it was the most challenging thing she had done and the most rewarding.

    1. It sounds very appealing to me but I am sure it would be a enormeous challenge for me to keep my mouth shut for five days :D

    2. For me too. I am in Sales, so I love to chat people up. Heck on that quest you can't even talk out loud to yourself. Whew. I would like to do it someday, and see if all monkeys in my head finally quiet down.

  2. The Six of Air looks like a medicine shield; the Plains Native Americans would decorate them with symbols of power and personal significance. It would be a painting that you would do that showed what gives you strength and what is important for you.

  3. Clarity is such a crisp clean word. Slippery too, hard to hand on to.

  4. We are on the same psychic wave length again Ellen. I posted about this today regarding panic. Clarity is the word and subject I've been contemplating, concerned with, and keeps coming to mind. First comes my muddled thought then comes the action, which usually gets me more confused, and discombobulated and not feeling very good about my choices as they don't mirror my values during these times, but I keep pushing forward with a positive attitude toward progress not perfection regardless, and celebrate my small achievements as my own warrior woman!

    1. I think we are all warriors. Each day we wake up and face life. we take up our spiritual armor of inner strength and confidence but also of love and compassion. And each night when we go to sleep we can be grateful for our progress and victories, great and small alike. :)
