Lenormand – practice, practice, practice!

This morning I figured it was about time I picked up my Lenormand cards again to practice my reading skills so when my copy of the Celtic Lenormand would arrive, I would be able to work with it. For this line of five I have chosen the Gilded Reverie by Ciro Marchetti. The question is: what advice can you give me on how to pursue my challenge of “Making room in 40 days”?
After shuffling the cards I searched for the ring as a symbol of my commitment to this challenge and picked the two cards on either side of the ring. Together they form a line of five with:
whip + cross + ring + heart + sun

Gilded Reverie Lenormand, whip, broom, cross, ring, heart, sun

Cross+ ring+  heart : it is important to devote yourself spiritually and emotionally to this commitment.
Whip + cross : establishing some repetitive spiritual practices can be very helpful
Sun +heart:  Give yourself permission to bask yourself in the light of self love
Whip + sun : although there will be difficulties, maybe self-doubt and other  and inner  struggles, this challenge will  strengthen your confidence and will give you  a lot of insight in yourself

These cards gave me lots of practical advice. Especially about  creating some daily rhythm, so there will be some flow during the day and I won’t be constantly aware of the things I cannot do but more focusing on what I can and want to do. Honestly it feels a bit like when I quit smoking but with the heart and the sun in view I am on my way again!

  1. Lovely reading, Ellen! As you say, an interesting balance between the Whip and Cross on one side and the Heart and Sun on the other. Another interpretation for Whip and Cross might be spiritual discussions - being committed to being emotionally open to listening to different points of view is a great way to make room in your head :)

    1. Thank you so much Chloe!
I thought whip only stood for heated arguments, quarrels and disagreement and of course repetition. Not so much for a an exchange of opinions.
While this is a solitary challenge there is not much discussion going on beside in my journal :)

    2. Hey, some of the best discussions I've had have been with myself :D Seriously, though, you are talking about it here, too... As for the Whip, some people equate it to debate more generally, not just arguments, could even be a job interview, so exchange of opinions isn't that much of a reach :)

  2. Those daily spiritual practices can be a big help, but be gentle and kind to yourself too! I've never seen the whip as a repetition, but that makes perfect sense now that you've said it.

    1. To be gentle and kind is often the hardest. I've made some kind of daily routine with lots of room for whatever comes to mind. I suppose it is doable but if not, it is okay to and I will try something different

  3. I must practice more with the Lenormand too Ellen, it's rather new to me though and not on the top of my list of things to do at present.
My first thought as regard the whip is always that saying 'cracking the whip' meaning to get on with the job in hand, indicating someone who is a hard task master, when next to a people card.
Not a proper Lenormand meaning.........so you see I have much to learn!

    1. Well as one newbie to another I do like to read them a bit intuitively too. Of course you have to learn the vocabulary/ meanings of the cards but adding a bit of your own flavor makes it so much more fun to play with this little deck.
