Two of Wands – Feeling a bit off

Original Rider Waite Tarot Two of Wands
Today’s card is the Two of Wands from the Original Rider Waite tarot. Although this card has a lot of many meanings, varying from personal power to loneliness, today for me it is all about not feeling quite right.  At first glance there is nothing wrong with this guy but since tarot is a mirror of the soul, I feel he is not happy with everything he has accomplished so far and he doesn't fully appreciate everything he has. Somehow I get the feeling he takes it all for granted. Of course he knows very well  how to reverse this feeling: practicing gratitude, meditating, exercising etc.  But he is just not into it. So what to do when I feel like this? I pulled the Seven of Cups and this card put a smile on my face. Of course it is so  easy: just let my mind roam free like and be in awe of all the dreams I encounter. One by one they are ready  to be manifested. (This is definitely a reoccurring theme in my daily draws.)
And admiring  all these gorgeous cups, suddenly I feel so happy, and grateful for the abundance I already have received. And for everything what life has still in store for me.
Yes, feeling not quite right is often a state of mind which can be turned around and it is almost always a matter of choice

"The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are."

  1. When I see 7 of cups it often signifies to me an almost bewildering array of choices. Which way to go? What to do next? If you're 'feeling not quite right' it's often difficult to choose, so I like your interpretation of these 'gorgeous Cups' as blessings already received! This quote from Carl Jung is one of my favourites and one I've found helpful many times, and hope you do too, Ellen:

'If the path before you is clear, it is probably someone else's'.

    1. Thanks Halcyon. Usually I see the Seven of Cups also as too many options to choose from and getting stuck in a fantasy world instead of making a choice. Today it was a welcome breath of fresh air for the stagnant energy of the two of wands. :)
      Thanks for the quote!

  2. I see the Two of Wands as having the whole world of possibility in your hand, and about realizing your dreams. To me it's about having courage, faith and vision to realize your goals.

I have been so preoccupied with this lately, and I wanted to share this video with you Ellen. It is with Marie Forleo, and a Canadian, Todd Herman, who trains Olympic athletes, and everyday people. He explains feeling stuck, changing habits and the physiology of change. as opposed to the 'castles in the air' in the Seven of Cups. Todd Herman sure opened my eyes and what he says makes so much sense to me. It's what I have been looking for, for all of my life. Here's the link. I think you'll find it really helpful.

  3. Interesting interpretation of the Seven of Cups! Like Catherine, I often see the Two of Wands as full of potential, if you dare step outside of your safe little castle. And sometimes its okay to decide that you like where you are, and will just carry on with that. Still, I love that gratitude for all the abundance in your life, and the willingness to let your spirit roam and dream :D

  4. Doing a daily draw of two cards is much more rewarding and insightful, it's like a title with a subtitle, more revealing.

    1. I agree, but sometimes I want to be brief and concise.
Especially when time to write ( and to translate) is hard to find. :)

Absolutely! Being willing to see possibilities instead of only closed doors can help motivate us to action. Hope you've chosen the right cup for you today!

  6. Oh, the realisation that you're better off than you thought, just by changing your mind set. Seen it a lot and I have been there too. Count your cups, but I also, I find this combination can also be about making a decision about what to do! :)
