What is the
benefit of a balanced and conscious mind….
Then I drew The Wheel (The wheel of Fortune). How beautiful these two
cards are complementing each other. In both of them we see a wheel as a symbol for cycles and nature's rhythm
This card
is about coping with the ups and downs in life but also about the consequence
of the choices we make. Often we think we are the victim of luck and chance but
mostly our life’s events are the result of our own choices (conscious or not).
We pray to God(dess) for insight, we burn purifying incense and sometimes we
grasp a glimpse of the path we’re walking.
For me the
ultimate challenge of The Wheel is to sit in the middle of the spokes and to experience
the cycles of life with a balanced and conscious mind (Golden flower) without
being powerlessly pulled along with every turning of this wheel
“Know this – your life, like a mandala, is
your sacred conversation with the divine. Be ever mindful of this when making
your decisions.” L. Vey
I guess it was the goldfish, but they made me think of the back-and-forth flowing of water (like you usually see when the waters are mixing); that tends to make me think of compromise instead of an "all or nothing" mentality. Finding equanimity as that wheel turns is definitely a challenging (but good) idea! That's a lovely card too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this word equanimity. I't has a "word of the year"potential,
DeleteLately it is an ongoing trial and error process to stay calm and centered. Sometimes I think I've got it and then something happens which throws me immediately from the hub to the rim again :D
I understand! It's like the stuff you want to change gets stuck like resin on the rim and takes forever to wear off, but the stuff you enjoy is like mud that dries quickly and flings off too soon. :) Hugs to you my friend as you ride that wheel!
Deletebeautiful card. Without the title I'd have seen it as the World card.
ReplyDeleteYes it is. Some cards of this deck can put you on the wrong track. For me it is not an issue. (Something I never could have guessed: I can be so picky:))
DeleteLuckily the LWB is very extensive
Hi Ellen! What a Beautiful card! These fit perfectly! I love your post and I'll take your very valuable words to add to my "balancing recipe" :) Big kiss and Muchas Estrellas!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe best recipes are bit and pieces from all kinds of cookbooks my friend
DeleteHug and many stars :D
:D you are very right!!!!!!!
DeleteI love your thought of sitting within the spokes! I also like this depiction of Temperance.
ReplyDeleteHi Margo. It is something I've picked up from a book, blog, vlog, Don't remember where! :D
DeleteIt's what they say in the book of the Osho Zen Tarot :)
DeleteThanks!!!
DeleteFunny, when I first saw the Golden Flower, I thought it was the Wheel. So, to pull that as a blending card is good - it highlights both the differences and the similarities. The card images are lovely, even if they aren't always "obvious". I notice that the Wheel is accompanied by the suggestion to connect with the divine, whereas Temperance is more everyday/natural. Getting the right mix in our lives, learning to flow and blend what is needed, we use bits of whatever is around us. Whereas the spin of the Wheel may cause us to give thanks or pray for help :)
ReplyDelete"they aren't always "obvious". I never, ever thought I would, but that is what I love most about this deck. There are no clip and clear meanings, You have to approach this deck like it is you first tarot deck. It is almost if you start fresh with reading tarot. Only now I know I don't have to memorize 78 cards because I can also trust my intuition.:)
DeleteSo wonderful that you are finding a new world in this deck, and also trusting yourself! :)
