The Moon – Follow the yellow brick road

Morgan Greer Tarot The Moon
Today’s card is The Moon from the Morgan Greer Tarot.  Coincidentally the next card in the Major Arcana after the Star. This tells me that after the cleansing and rejuvenating pause from The Star, there are still some challenges ahead of us. When I pulled The Moon card this morning;“follow the yellow brick road” was the first thing that came to mind. As of tomorrow I am going on a “journey” myself, not knowing what my destination will be. To be honest, the commitment to a challenge of  40 days scares me a lot and at the same time I am so excited about it (the dog and the wolf in me).  I am also curious about the wisdom, hidden in my subconscious, the purple lobster will bring me. It must be something quite important because purple isn't  used frequently in this deck.
Anyhow guided by the light of the full moon (and my Star) I am going to follow this path day by day, trying not to look ahead too much but staying in the present moment and enjoying the journey.

(It is funny because there will be a New Moon tomorrow. I am very happy with it, because its energy might reinforce the change which I hope to achieve.

  1. I think that's one thing the animals have over us - the ability to stay in the moment! I love the Morgan Greer with its lack of borders and jewel tone colors. :)

    1. That is why I am so glad we have Jofee living with us now!
And yes the deck is a jewel indeed :)

  2. I love the concept of the journey that you picked up on with this card.... reminds me a bit of the 8 of Cups.... a journey into the unknown, into discovering oneself better..........I love this deck. I bought it, and loved it, and then one day someone told me that the men in the deck all look like Tom Selleck, and that sort of reduced my enjoyment of it, for whatever reason. I ended up giving it away... and then I bought it again, because it's really a wonderful deck. Except now I have the Italian version, which I think I prefer ;-)

    1. Yes the famous mustache man LOL
I did rather like him as Magnum but that is probable because of my age. The whole seventies vibe from this deck feels very familiar :D
Is their a difference between two versions?

    2. Sigh, Oh Magnum PI..... haha... no, there is no difference between them, just the language. It's really nice to have it again, and the mustached men don't phase me a bit anymore :)

  3. Nice synchronicity with the Moon and the New Moon in real life! As for the challenge, you have completed many challenges since you started this blog. If you want to do it, I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it. And if you don't, then that will also be a learning for you :)

  4. Lovely seeing the MG on here. I have an English and Spanish version. The Spanish is darker though and not as enticing. Laughing at the Magnum connotations. Will I ever get that out of my head? I drew the Knight of Pentacles (RWS) for a woman yesterday and described him. She said 'Oh, that's boring Simon from the gym'. I am not sure I will be able to get that out of my head now either, haha.

    1. I picture you now with a bag filled ice cubes on you head :)
Still I love those funny associations with the cards. They make them once again a bit more lifely.
