The Three of Cups needs Strength

Morgan Greer Tarot, Three of Cups
Today’s card is the Three of Cups from the Morgan Greer Tarot. Three women standing together; enjoying each other company. Its seems like they are wearing the garlands from Yesterday’s card. This card is for me the “Me me and my girls” card. We love each other dearly and we like to spend time together. Just hanging out; laughing and talking, or watching a movie together. Just regular stuff but sometimes enjoying those little things together is making a relationship so special
I wondered what more I could write about this card so I pulled another one to find a more specific meaning. (an idea I found on Tiferet tarot
I pulled the lion. Wow! That made a lot of sense. After the (now resolved) difficulties between M and S, it is a good advice to keep a lid on our primal reactions toward each other. Not every thought has to be shared. Not every feeling has to be put into words.
Morgan Greer Tarot, Strength
“I teach you that the greatest strength is strength of spirit, and that all challenges are conquered if they are met with tolerance, forgiveness, forbearance and compassion”.
Before we speak we can try to figure out, if what we want to say is beneficial, necessary and kind. Look how tender and gentle this woman is treating her lion. Somehow it makes me wonder if we are kind to others we are also kind to ourselves at the same time. This kindness must somehow reflect back on our own well being.

Affirmation: Today I will treat others with kindness and I will weigh my words before I speak.

  1. I often say if I said aloud every thought that crossed my mind, my family would never go to sleep at night. :D I think we do need to develop a sanity filter that screens out the crazy stuff before it comes out our mouths. All the inflammatory remarks will only kick the hornet's nest, instead of build and maintain a relationship.

    1. I agree!
A sanity filter! Where can I buy three of them!!!
I love beings silently together. Sometimes we each do our own thing and still we feel close
Words can sometimes build more barriers than knock down walls

    2. I keep checking Amazon for those filters (I need a case), but so far they don't have them in stock. :D

  2. Carla at Rowan Tarot wrote a post recently about how we sometimes treat our dearest like we treat ourselves: quite harshly. To me, it seemed a good suggestion to treat ourselves with kindness, too. If we can practice it towards ourselves, it will overflow into the rest of our lives :)

    1. It is the same with Deep Listening, Bev, talked about when she wrote a comment about Kuan Yin That to is a practice starting out with ourselves and gradually spreading into our circles. Everything start with pebble in the pond. :)

  3. You know Ellen, my woman friends have been my my strength, guidance confidants and family. I would be lost without them. Fellowship with them is great but to have those one on one friends is such a blessing like no other relationship. To have a friend we must be a friend, including to ourselves. Beautiful cards.

    1. Sometimes friends can be more like family then real family members

  4. Lovely quote for the Strength card, and I like how you pulled the second card in order to better understand in what way to consider the 3 of Cups! You say "keep a lid on our primal reactions" - what a nice way to describe an important element of the Strength card :)

    1. I wasn't sure if this was considered appropriate English :)
Working with a second card has been an eye opener for me. Of course I've pulled clarifiers before but somehow now it "clicked

  5. I love your affirmations. It's always nice to end a session with the cards with an affirmation, to distill the thoughts and messages we have received. I hope to see more of them!

    1. Thanks Carla. Perhaps you will. Somehow writing an affirmation in English is kinda difficult. I cannot explain why exactly.
It is fun trying and sometimes I come up with something worth posting

  6. I'm glad you like the second-card idea. I have always found that cards read very nicely in pairs. They tighten answers up. It's worked very well for you here. Always good to see the Morgan Greer!
