For today I drawn Wolf
moon from the Oracle of the Shapeshifters.
We see a girl and wolf together in the picture. It is night and probable cold,
since the wolf moon appears in January. We don’t now for sure who is the one
being watched over, but I strongly suspect it is the girl who is about to
change into a wolf under the light of the full Wolf moon. She is holding the
wolf, hugging him and she is finding comfort in the warmth of his fur and the
strength of his spirit.
This card reminds me of the Strength card, so maybe the girl and the wolf are representing two aspects of the same being

Wolf Moon heralds a time of change.
Although we are always constantly changing, some times change can be more obvious
than usual and these are the times we want to be held, because change can be
scary and painful: Often we have to leave a familiar situation behind and then
we have to step into the unknown just like the Outsider or the little bird from
my previous posts. Yes, again the cards seem to tell us a story like a in daily
comic strip.
The wolf is a loyal guide during
such transformations. For me he represents (inner)strength, loyalty and
trustworthiness. Whether you see him as a spirit animal, an angel, a part of your inner self or the divine itself, is of no consequence; just know you are
watched over.
Affirmation: Today I am going to be aware of the
spiritual protection, I will receive in difficult situations.
I'd say it's synchronicity that you talk of change, and my card today had the keyword change. On the other hand, "change is a constant". Perhaps there are just times we notice it more, or when it feels more scary. Hope you can give and receive hugs, whether physical or spiritual to help in these circumstances :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha yes change is our constant companion; better to befriend him!
DeleteI think giving hugs can be as comforting as receiving them.
HUGS!!!
Big hugs to you, too, Ellen!
DeleteWell with both you and Kerry's draws paralleling each other this morning, I can't wait to see what I draw! :)
ReplyDeleteChange doesn't scare me if I instigate it, but if I have no control over it (like losing a job) it is VERY scary to me. That's when I really have to tap into my spiritual practice and take firm root there.
Good morning to you!!
DeleteI am on the same page with you about the different kind of changes. But sometimes when I start with changing something then Change gets the upper hand and I still can lose control. (I am pushing roots by the mere thought of it :D)
I like the comfort in intuitive and brave guidance offered by this card. It reminds me a bit of the King of Stones from the Wildwood, which shows a wolf under a full moon. Putting aside the "king" aspects, I am always drawn in by that moon - and the wolf is perfectly at home with his/her shadow - knows him/herself, and isn't afraid to take on new challenges. I definitely see how you get the sense of the Strength card from this!
ReplyDeleteThat is the key challenge; to really come to terms with your shadowy aspects. I love that King of Stones too. He such a great protector of his pack:)
DeleteHugs
The wolf and the Moon two of my most favourite beings! La Loba Wild Woman/ Wolf Woman and La Luna. Both very strong and powerful forces of nature that guide and protect. The spirit of the woman and the spirit of the wolf meet. " Mist Beings ", always changing, but always the same.
ReplyDeleteThanks Catherine for this addition. These forces didn't cross my mind when I was writing this post. That is why I love getting comments because together we can blend all our insights together to a very empowering wisdom
