my setup and six decks that might play along |
This Experience is supposed to be different. The goal is to choose one core deck and two additional decks. From the core deck you’ll pull, after shuffling, a card and from the additional decks you'll find its counterpart. When you sit with these cards you’ll experience how your understanding of the card you've pulled will grow and become more layered. There are no prompts or questions. You don’t have to show up every day and you're free to tailor this Experience to your own liking. Some people chose more than two additional decks or some will rotate them weekly.
Example with the Death card |
For me it is certain I will pick the Original Rider Waite Tarot as my core
deck. The Rider Waite Tarot is the deck I started out with many years ago. It is
a highly trusted, well read, and deeply loved deck. I want to broaden my perspective
of the archetypes in this deck. I want to deepen my relationship with its characters and I want to add some fresh insights to the mix of meanings I have
for each card of this deck. The more I think about it the more excited I become
to participate in this challe… no, experience!
I am not
sure which additional decks I will choose. Perhaps I will choose several and
let
my intuition guide me which decks want to enlighten me about my daily draw.
Or I might just end up using two of the ones I’ve picked; we’ll see.

I typed here on and on. But took it all back out, and I'll just say good day my friend.
ReplyDeleteNow you've made me curious :D
DeletePS good day to you too!
DeleteI'm with you - prompts don't help me much because often they don't have anything to do with the insights that are pertinent to me. I do like this idea of pulling a card and then finding the same card in other decks. It's quite like looking a one facet of a crystal and then walking around to view other sides of it.
ReplyDeleteI love your metaphor of the faceted crystal. That is exactly the reason why I want to participate :)
DeleteThat sounds like a good tarot intensive. I do that sometimes, go to alternative deck and see if it speaks to me on a different level. I look forward to any comments you may share about this new exploration.
ReplyDeleteI am sure I will blog about it. I am so excited about this!
DeleteI saw this challenge on IG and was debating on whether to take part or not. I feel the same way about challenges and not being able to keep up, so it is good that this one isn't organized that way. I hope it brings you lots of new ideas!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope so too. Maybe you will join in later??
DeleteI drew a Ace of Swords today from the Fairy Tarot and really couldn't fathom what daily advice it was relaying. I almost got a few other decks out to see if a group of ace of swords would help. That tiger cub what really drew my attention so that is where I went; I followed the tiger.
ReplyDeleteSometimes one symbol on one card is all you need to get going :)
DeleteI'm really enjoying seeing some of the IG tarotperspective posts. A decade ago I was part of an online forum called Comparative Tarot, which did something very similar. We would all draw the card of the week from our own deck and describe the card and what we got from it. It was a wonderful experience. Hope you're enjoying yours :D
ReplyDeleteSo far I really enjoy the experience although I do skip some days. I also like to see the other posts and am amazed how different some of the cards are interpreted by the artists
DeleteI too am really enjoying this tarot experience :) It's great that it doesn't feel pressured and really interesting to see so many deck comparisons. Especially from decks I don't have or haven't seen before! I love seeing the cards from different perspectives.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura! Thank you for stopping by! I've missed several days but it doesn't feel like failure at all. Not only did I Learn a lot form my own comparisons but I love to watch what other people post too!
DeletePS you've got a new follower :D
