The Queen of Wands - Cherish and encourage your inner cub

Mary El Tarot Queen of Wands Marie White
Last night I was meditating and I felt rushed and also annoyed that lately so much is left undone. It seems like I don’t have enough time to get everything done. Being the responsible woman I am (ahum) of course the fun things are being put on the backburner. While I was trying to free my mind of all this noise, I heard  from deep within: “Slow down; there is plenty of time”
And then I realized I was rushing from one thing to another without being present with what  I was doing  right now. No wonder I was experiencing lack instead of abundance.
When my meditation was done, I pulled  a card with the question in mind, what could help me to really stay in the moment  and enjoy what I am doing. And I pulled the Queen of Wands from the Mary El Tarot. Well this queen is certainly present in the here and now. Look at how she is presenting herself: boldly and fearlessly. She is a South American shaman holding her little Jaguar, which is a symbol of strength and protection, in her arms :
This queen is the ruler of our inner fire, the flame of our  true self and our creative potential. She will show you who you are really meant to be. This queen always reminds me of Strength and when I opened the guidebook I read:  “She provides you with a safe , warm and abundant environment where you can grow from a small cub to a powerful jaguar yourself; master of your own internal forest.”

When I embrace my creativity; my drive,  and spend time with my cub, time will stretch out and there will be plenty of it to play, to grow,  to work, to enjoy and to be grateful for each precious moment.

  1. “Slow down; there is plenty of time” - My yoga teacher once gave me a bookmark that said, 'There will always be enough time." If I slow down, and do things mindfully (one thing at a time if possible), I will probably not make mistakes or overlook anything. Then there will be enough time!

    1. You are so right! That is why we say: more haste less speed!
I haven't got a whole lot done but what I've done went well. and that's what counts I guess :)
      There is always tomorrow....

  2. You describe these cards really well, Ellen. This deck sits with you well, I feel.

They look like faces on her knees.

  3. Nicely written post. So much truth. We rush around not getting a thing done and wonder why. I'm with you on that. I've heard time slows when you are enjoying the things you do, in the present. It is still a struggle to so though. Good luck being present. :)

    1. Thanks Cher and I wish for you the same. It is ongoing challenge but being aware of our rushing is a good start :)

  4. I agree, this deck is working for you Ellen.

Well written and thoughtful post! It makes be think of the saying hurry up and wait. Patience is perhaps for the impatient ones, like I had been for many years and oh, still do have my 'moments' were I get very frustrated, and then am just frustrated with myself for being so impatient. Being in a rush just heaps stress onto myself, and I really don't need that at all! And I don't like my inner critic. I boot her to the curb when she's trying to tell me what to do, or not to do!

I think of animals who live truly live in the present moment, we can learn much from them. The only things they concern themselves with are getting their needs met, eating, sleeping, getting pet, and running in and out of doors! Why is it so hard for us? Perhaps we are more concerned with being human doings rather than being human beings.

    1. Love your last sentence!!! Human Doings !!!LOL
We get easily trapped in those vicious circles of frustration and then get angry over this and so on. If only we could have more compassion for ourselves Because God knows we are trying to do the best we can

Ps thanks for the "well written" part. Still a bit insecure sometimes :)

  5. Love your description of the Queen of Wands as the ruler of our inner fire, that really encompasses it for me. However, this card is one of those that puts me off the deck: I could imagine her as the Queen of Disks, but not of Wands. Ah, my brain and its assumptions again :/

    1. I quite like her as the Queen of Wands. She appears to be so strong and confidant and ready to come into action. She is fearless and so happy in her own skin.
I do relate to the difficulty of jumping to conclusions too fast. That part of me also has to slow down :)
