Today’s
card is Mother of Fire from the Vision Quest Tarot. She is related to the Queen
of Wands but I feel she is much easier to approach than her royal niece. She looks up from her
scared task; the tending of the hearth, the center of her abode. And just as
she feeds the hearth fire with pieces of dry wood, she also loves to feed our heart with
passion and courage.
As an adult
mature woman she has already gathered a
lot of life experiences and she wants to share her wisdom with everybody who sits down by her fire. She has so many stories to tell and she wants to inspires
us to live our life passionately and filled with joy.
I feel a
bit sorry for her because as a mother myself, I try to share my wisdom with my
girls, but more often than not they want to make their own decisions and learn
from their own mistakes.
So Mother of Fire teaches me today to share my stories
and inspire my girls and everybody else who visits my Hearth but also that most of the time giving advice, when it is not asked for, is a waste of effort and time
Affirmation: Today I
will warm myself by the fire of my hearth and the fire of my heart and I will chose
to do the things that will bring me joy so I can share this joy with my loved ones.
I like this card and the advice you have been given by the Mother of Fire. She seems pretty comfortable with herself. I think I will print a copy of her and put her on my altar today and see if she has some words of wisdom for me.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Carolyn and I am sure she has lots of personal gifts for you too:)
DeleteI've given up trying to inspire the young (who are writing their own stories); but not so with my peers. We continue to encourage each other!
ReplyDeleteYes that is a wise choice! I have found a lot of encouragement from our online community too. I never could have thought to find such inspirational and great friends online three years ago when I started this blog :) That was a great choice too :D
DeleteThis was lovely to read, Ellen.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have had this deck for four years and I'm still yet to read with it. Seeing you use it, I feel it's about time to dust it off and do something with it. Maybe just a personal study to begin with. An Instagram card before bed, something like that. It's truly beautiful.
It feels so good to have encouraged you to finally pick this deck up. It is really worth it and it reads so intuitively. A perfect deck to pick a goodnight card from and go to sleep with its soothing energy. :)
DeleteBeautiful card followed by beautiful words. Thanks for sharing. Hope you had a pleasant Monday. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cher for your kind words Have a lovely week yourself!

Ha ha ha, yes, children (of whatever age) won't be told! And yet, you have so much wisdom to share. Sometimes, I think, it's about how we say things. My mum managed to rub me the wrong way last week, so I wouldn't listen to her wisdom, though normally I do (mostly) :D Speaking from the heart always helps...
ReplyDeleteI've learned that the best way to guide my girls is to gently suggest an option or two and then let them work things out for themselves but sometimes I long for the time when I could sent them to their room if they didn't listen :)
DeleteI love the reframing of the Queens as "Mother of" in this deck. Each one of them feels so accessible with a particular wisdom to impart. This Mother of Fire has quite a different feeling from the Queen of Wands, doesn't she. Lovely post, Ellen.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Less royal, more like a nurturer and a friend. She is quite friendly and wiling to share her wisdom with everybody who wants to sit by her fire :)
