I've taken
up my own challenge and I have cleared my altar up to three items: one big
white candle, one a white clothe, a tumbled Labradorite, and the Druidcraft
tarot. Until so far I am enjoying it very much. My altar radiates simplicity and
peacefulness. No distraction from all kinds of little symbols and decorations.
For now, I like it.
Today’s
card is the Seven of wands from the Druidcraft tarot. This is a fitting card to
pull for the holiday season. My initial impression is to defend my own boundaries
mentally as well as physically, during these busy weeks. But when I look a bit
closer maybe these men are not approaching to attack the guy in his refuge but
merely to share their ideas and to ask for his help, Maybe this apparent attack
exists only in my mind, triggered by my need for rest and solitude. Perhaps I should
try to and listen first and decide how I want to spend my time and energy, always
remembering to keep quite a bit for myself too. So today I will try to listen attentively before thinking an defensive NO! Defending boundaries is not only
about killing all the trespassers but more to distinct friend from foe
I think it does have a lot to do with boundaries, which would be easy to defend with foes, but not so much with friends or family. Those are the folks I have a hard time finding rest and solitude from. :)
ReplyDeleteProbable because they have some emotional hold over us and we don't want to disappoint them...
Deletebecause otherwise our trusted companion guilt will come looking for us :D
Ah, Druid Craft deck, it never disappoints.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say again, yesterday's post was so good!
Thank you Sharyn. :)
DeleteI love this deck very much too. It is easy to read and so beautifully painted
Nice reflection. Interestingly, the 7 of Bows in the Wildwood is titled "clearance" :-) Simplicity can be very refreshing. I hope you continue to enjoy your opened-up altar space!
ReplyDeleteThanks Olivia! I am sure I will. Perhaps I will leave it like that even longer than a week. One white candle for the Divine is truly opening up my feelings and thoughts about it. :)
DeleteGood points, Ellen.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I can push people away or be defensive before I find out what they want. I often say 'no' to social things before I find out what they are.
Some things to think about. I like that idea of friend and foe with this card.
P.S. I posted your pouch today :)
Thank you so much Steve I am looking forward to it !!!!
DeleteI really like your interpretation here, Ellen. The boundaries idea resonates with me, as well as the idea that the people may not be "attacking" but simply demanding or requesting the main figure's attention, energy, etc. They may be trying to be helpful, but sometimes we just need to put everyone at arm's length, mentally, and take a breath.
ReplyDeleteI am learning this today. I have to take some distance from everybody's demands since my neck is starting to hurt again . It worries me and I need my rest :)
DeleteI absolutely adore this deck :) And the reading matched with clearing your altar - brilliant. Thank you for letting us read about your world.
ReplyDeleteIt always feels so great to clean house, and get down to the minimum. Your altar sounds lovely. :) xo
Thank you MizPIxie Chris. It does give a feel of space simplicity
