Celtic Lenormand- a very feminine Line of Five

For my daily draw I’ve used the Celtic Lenormand by Chloe McCracken and Will Worthington. First I’ve shuffled my deck thoroughly and then I searched for the Woman card with the spindle in her hands. This is the one I identify the most with. The Lady card feels more like a representation of the Goddess to me. Then I picked up the two cards on either side of her...

Celtic Lenormand

My cards are: Birds - Chickens + Bear  + woman + Lady + snake - fierce
For me these are all cards who have a very strong  feminine energy. Of course the bear can also represent a businessman but for me she screams: Mother!!! But back to the reading:

Celtic lenormand, birds, bear, woman, lady, snake

Chickens + Snake – This week S. is visiting her boyfriend’s family up North and M and I are staying at home together. I want to keep in mind to be more socially aware and to spend time with her. We do love to talk about  almost everything and like to have very in-depth discussions, but we both have the tendency to spend to much time behind a screen . I do want to be careful not to get irritated and snap when our social time “exceeds both our limits”. J
Lady + Snake – I see these two cards as a advice to protect my boundaries this week  and be firm but kind about it. Also it is better to use my wits and humor than my ability to “bite”.
Chickens + bear – Social interaction with a great dinner: baked salmon, bread + herb butter, salad and wine
Bear + Lady – These two are literally me, applying my skills at the stove tonight and baking us a beautiful piece of salmon. Or at a more spiritual level:  My  relationship with the Mother, the Goddess which is lately strong and fulfilling.
Al together I think we will have a lovely week together as long as we keep an eye out for the snake.

It was a bit of a challenging combination of cards, since  three of the additional cards from the deck appeared in my line of five but I loved it to figure out what they mean for me today.

  1. I can make "biting" comments toward those I love when I'm in codependent mode. So important for me to be aware of where my thoughts and emotions take me before I arrive somewhere I don't want to be!

    1. You are so right Bev it is definitely a good advice to slow down and respond instead of react this week.

  2. Your planned dinner sounds divine! I know I've said it before but Chloe's deck is so, so beautiful. Will's artwork is extremely rich and inviting. One could easily use these cards to inspire creative writing!

  3. I love reading how you interpret Lenormand cards. I've been trying to work out how I want to use the extra cards. I think relating to the lady as the Goddess is wonderful. I'm wondering what you do with the two men cards?
    Your dinner sounds wonderful!!
    Bright Blessings!

    1. Thanks Monsoon. Most of the I time I leave all the cards in the deck. I like the variety of meanings they give. I call the men cards Man and Lord. They represent different aspects of the masculine for me.

  4. You've just finished your lovely salmon and I'm here with a thermos of tea and chocolate after a hike in the woods. I'm using this deck this week as well alongside my Druidcraft Tarot, a seamless pairing. I'm enjoying seeing how you work with this deck.

    1. Tea and chocolate sounds great too Rose. I love chocolate, especially milk chocolate with hazelnuts.:)
These decks are wonderful together. It is such fun to pair up decks from the same artist. Do you also have his oracle decks? They could join in too

    2. I do and while I've thought of pairing them up with both the DC and Wildwood, I've yet to do so. I imagine they'd speak easily with each other though.

  6. It's funny, some days I feel more like the Lady, and some days more like the Woman. Still, I do also use the Lady to represent the Goddess, as I said in my portable altar video :)
Hope you and M continue to enjoy your week together, having a "girly" time, and respecting one another's boundaries :)

    1. Maybe the lady awakes when you work at or for your day job?
M and I are doing really great. Up until now we both are enjoying each others company and also make room for doing our own things. Right now I am blogging and she is enjoying herself with her camera and Jofee is fast asleep :)

  7. Must be something in the air. The Lady, The Woman, The Queen the Goddess all seem to be a main theme in many posts, including mine. Must be the Spring!
Any way, I love your interpretation of these beautiful cards Ellen. I have to say you writing is getting better all the time. You have great clarity in your insightful messages in the way you are able to express yourself in words.

    1. Thanks Catherine. Your compliment about my writing means a lot to me. I do feel it is getting easier to write in English but it still requires a lot of effort. That is why I have been thinking about reviving my Dutch blog again. So I can switch between the two of them

  8. It's so wonderful you speak more than one language. People in Canada, many but certainly not all have too of a provincial attitude toward language, French and English. We only have to bilingual provinces in the whole country. Many folks think one language is enough. But I think the more the better. I think it is so important to use your own language but to be fluent in more than one is fantastic.

As far as your English writing is concerned, you have no problem getting your ideas across and your writing is getting better all the time. People are very forgiving of incidental grammatical mistakes, but I do think it is important to correct them, because it shows you care about your writing. Spell check work great for this.

    1. It it wasn't for the internet, my English would still be very elementary. When you want to surf beyond the Dutch borders you have to at least know how to read it
And yes Yeah for Spell checker! :D

  9. Yes and it is really amazing how you can learn a different language online. I would love to learn Italian. But I haven't any use for it here, and it takes a lot of discipline if you are going attempt to learn on your own. No Italians to talk with over a cappuccino! But...I have always wanted to go to Italy, so maybe some day! :)
