From the Wild Unknown Tarot, I drew this morning the Son of Pentacles. He is known for his dedication and
his loyalty to his duties. For this young male deer a life full of responsibilities
is lying ahead. To live this kind of life requires practice al lot of practice.
The moon is waning, cradling a pentacle which could become his crown, if he is
up to the task. He feels a bit said melancholic maybe; remembering his childhood
when life was easy and not as demanding. But this son is dedicated and will put
all his energy into the job. He will not boast or be needy of praise. He only
then will step forward if his time is ripe and then he will amaze the herd.
When we put all our effort and dedication
into a project, determined to see it to the finish, we can be assured of success, which brings me to the rune of today which is Sowilo. This is the rune of vitality, energy, motivation and success. This rune will add the spark of fiery passion to
the sometimes a bit predictable nature of the Son of Pentacles. When he feels this energy sparkle inside him, he
will know his time has come to step out of the dark shadows and into the light;
to claim his birthright and to become the strongest buck of the herd.
As my MIL says, "Keep on, keeping on." I think the passion you mention from Sowilo will help him do that as well as give him a purpose instead of just an obligation. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that: giving him purpose: Maybe in our daily life finding purpose trumps having mere success or finding purpose is our greatest success....
Deletevery interesting
ReplyDeleteI can see the determination in that young deer's expression. I can picture him digging in his hooves, steady in his progress and prepared to fight for his cause. It may take awhile to get there but he is going to succeed. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this lovely addition to my little story :D
DeleteI like how Sowilo's energy shines a bit like the orange pentacle/moon/sun floating above the deer's head. The Son certainly benefits from a bit of fire once in a while. I'm a double Capricorn with an Aries moon, so I can relate ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry I am not quite sure what you mean. I do know Capricorn is an earth sign and Aries a fire sign but what does it mean to be a double Capricorn???
DeleteBeautiful combination of this lovely card and Rune Ellen.
ReplyDeleteOoo responsibility...the word I use to love to hate! It was overdressed in obligation, obedience and imposed forced discipline. Thank goodness I understand obedience to a higher good isn't out of obligation but the choice I make because I want to do so, not because I have to. Free will is a gift we have been given.
Thanks Catherine. I find that very often "I have to's" or "I should's" can be turned into "I want to's" and "I would's" For Instance I have to cook can be altered in I want to feed my family. It is often just a matter of rephrasing and a change in perspective and of course ....Free Will!!!
DeleteOh that's perfectly beautiful Ellen!
ReplyDeleteThese draws are beautiful, Ellen. Love the images too. I think I am probably the only person in the world of tarot who doesn't own this deck!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. It is a beautiful deck and it is everything I have expected it to be and more lots more.
