Yesterday ,
Easter Sunday, was in general a good day
but also as usual an exhausting day. My husband was happy and content and that
is something to be thankful for. Also the rest of the family had a pleasant
day, everybody enjoyed M’s Easter wreath
, cookies and some buns. Dinner was good. When my husband went home again it was time
for me to send my hare goodbye until next year’s Easter. I embraced my heart
and cuddled it softly. Some special me-time was called for; not only for that evening
but also for today.
Because of my Hermity nature I always need some time to regroup myself after such a social event. And I wondered what would be the best way for me to do this:

Then I
pulled the Seven of Wands and I had to laugh out loud. What a lovely reminder of yesterday’s post. Look at
me standing there, defending the worthwhile; my own space, my own needs. Not always easy but definitely necessary J
So for today
I am going to keep to myself and do the things I love to do: blogging, meditation, reading,.....
I hope you
all have a lovely Easter Monday too.
Is there a holiday called "Easter Monday"? I had no idea. Happy that your family had a nice celebration, but glad you see the sanity in retreating to your own sacred space afterward. :)
ReplyDeleteWe call it Second Easterday and I thought in English this is called Easter Monday????
DeleteThis day is a slice of heaven :)
I love seeing your reference to Easter Monday, a day I grew up with in Canada. When I came to the States I was surprised to find it was a non-day here. There something wise in designating a day to pause and take in the Miracle that has occurred. Whether one ascribes to the Easter mythos or not, that same Mystery is unfolding all around us in the natural world, as the green shoot, the flame of blossom, the wild bud....Enjoy your sacred pause, Ellen and thank you for reminding me to drink in the astonishment of Spring, of the Earth knowing Herself again for the first time
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Rose and thank you for your beautiful comment Rose
DeleteYou should start writing a blog yourself.:)
Lovely deck, thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Sharyn
DeleteThanks for sharing this Ellen. I know just what you mean about the joy of hosting...and the need to recuperate afterwards! Happy Easter Monday xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, nice of you to drop by during your trip. Yes it is like breathing in and out :)
DeleteHappy Easter Monday to you too
Ha! I love how your theme of "defending your space" was woven in through today :) I'm glad your Easter was pleasant, albeit tiring, and that you'll have some time alone to "just do you." This morning I didn't have to work so I cleared and cleaned my altar space, and reorganized everything. It always feels good to do that. Be well!
ReplyDeleteHi Olivia! Altar altering is always such a relaxing and empowering thing to do. Coincidentally I did the same thing this afternoon. I love touching my sacred object and stones!
DeleteVery nice post I can relate to Ellen.
ReplyDeleteI am happy not to have had to host. All the same I did get invited out and do the Easter dinner and socializing thing, which I am grateful for, and did have an enjoyable time, but not what I consider the most important aspect of Easter. Like you I tend to want to withdraw somewhat and get reflective. I too drew Pentacles... The Ace, which gave me lots to ponder and think on.
I think we are quite alike Catherine. Although we do enjoy the company of others we need much time for ourselves and our thoughts.
DeleteJust doing the things we love and letting our minds wander :)
I agree Ellen. I think we are much alike. I attribute a lot of my wanting alone time to growing up this way, being alone most of my time at home. I'd go doolally all of a sudden having a big family visit! Seems like many who grow up with loads of siblings they love it. Guess it all depends on what you are used to, and how close you are to your family.
DeleteI'm glad I don't have to shout to be heard! ;)
Silence is much needed when you want to hear the soft voice inside
DeleteSo very very true!
