Three of Coins – Tending to your roses

Raven's Prophecy Three of Coins Maggie Stiefvater blog blogger
Today’s card is the Three of Coins from the Raven's Prophecy Tarot. Three roses, although yet partially open, are bound to come into full bloom. As long as we keep caring for them, they will reach their full potential and our hard work will be rewarded. This is what we all hope for when we begin a creative project. But even though we put in all our effort, so many things, often beyond our control can go wrong.  It is then that we are truly tested. Do we give up or do we work even harder to try to get rid of the infestations and diseases roses are so susceptible for? When we are not that experienced in tending to our roses, we’d better ask for help from somebody who is. After all, the three of Coins is also a card of teamwork.

For me, the three lights above the roses, symbolize trust and even the confidence that these roses will bloom one day because without it we wouldn’t be able to do all this hard work and to keep going when things get more difficult. Yes, despite setbacks and challenges, these lights will help us to bring our project to fruition.

Three of Coins and Two of Cups – Carefully moving closer …

I have been working with the Margarete Petersen Tarot for twelve days in a row now and I can’t seem to put it away and pick up another deck for my daily draws. I am utterly captivated by the beautiful artwork and clear and inspiring messages this deck has to offer.
Three of Coins Two of Cups Margarete Petersen Tarot
So for today, I drew the Three of Coins. Where the Two of Coins showed us two balancing feet, in this card we only see one. That means one foot has been lifted and is about to be put forward into a new direction; leaving old familiar patterns behind. The card also features the Om sign, which for me resembles a short prayer, said just before this foot will touch the earth. A prayer of trust that this will be the right path to follow.
And where, I wondered, might this path lead me? And I got the Two of Cups: Opening myself up to others and myself on an emotional level. A sense of belonging is essential to all living beings. It feels when I really open up to myself and to God it is so much more easy to open up to others as well. This card is all about giving and receiving and about loving kindness without expectations. Quite a challenge for me but not one I want to shy away from.

I love that this card strongly relates to The Lovers, which is my card for this lunation.

And then... and then.. and then…..

Storytelling with tarot is something I really love to do. Mostly when my card of the day is not quite what I expected or hoped for, I start asking questions and drawing more cards until the story unfolds and the message becomes clear to me.
Today I started out with the Eight of Cups from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot. Usually I love pulling this card. It gives me permission to leave everything behind and to spend some quality alone time but today it felt a bit challenging so soon after all the shadow work I have been doing last month. My initial reactions was: "Oh no, not again!"  So I pulled the Four of Cups, where a man is longing for the cup in the sky and doesn’t see the beautiful ones in the grass. This card tells me how I felt in the beginning of October. I had all those grand ideas of how I would spiritually grow and  although I did grow/change,  it was so entirely different than I expected it to be. And the Three of Coins is showing me how different it all was. I found my creative fire again and the courage to do something with it. Up until now the cards haven’t told me anything new. It all feels like a big intro to the main plot: the Six of Swords. This card is all about a journey again. I think it is about taking all the ideas of how finding creativity has been my “salvation” under consideration and asking myself questions like: “Why do want to create? How do I feel when I create? What part of me do I share with others when I create? Etc. Making a painting is not the destination of the journey it is the beginning of a new journey. And then I pulled the last card: Judgment which is to me the call to an authentic life; when we step out of the box of who we thought we were and  to sing the song of our soul of who we really are.

Three of coins – working together in harmony

For today I've drawn the Three of Coins (Pentacles) from the Joie de Vivre Tarot .Usually I think of creativity when I pull this card but this depiction is focusing more on working together for the greater good: “The whole is more than the sum of the parts.”
Let’s see what the LWB has to say about this card: The keywords are: Progress, success, perseverance, teamwork, planning.
Harmony shines as Soma, Pneuma, and Psyche combine their concentrated creative energies.  Focused and committed, their cooperation delivers healthy progress and quality workmanship. The shimmering golden coins are the fruits of their work.“ (LWB
I like the names Paulina has chosen for these three figures: Body, Spirit and Soul. It is without a doubt that when these three parts of us are fully balanced there is nothing we can’t accomplish. Each part of us contributes something unique to the whole and even with just one moon phase missing there can’t be a complete moon cycle. Don’t you just love it how all three of them are so in awe of their moons joined together? Of course this card also speaks about working together as  a team and about appreciating the qualities of others and what they add to the mix. How much I love to be on my own, I do acknowledge I need people and I am glad to be needed too. Yesterday M and I have had a lot of fun hunting for jeans for both of us. We were discussing each other's choices in the fitting room and were happy with the saleswomen’s input. Now we are both pleased with our new jeans and we have had a lovely afternoon together.
