Page of Wands – be mindful of the little sparks

This morning we have been on family chestnut hunt in a beautiful nearby park.  The perfect place to welcome Fall into our land. Lots of huge old trees, a pond, and loads of chestnuts. Each autumn they give me that giddy childlike feeling of wanting them all!!.

When we returned home I was very tired, not only from this morning but last week was a busy week as well. So I wasn’t surprised when I drew this particularly Page of Wands from the Ravens prophecy tarot. This Page is depicted as a lit match in the dark and immediately I heard the song: "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine" . This spark of fire, with so little fuel to keep on burning has to be protected and shielded from draft and wind at all cause. It might go out any moment.  But when I am able to protect this little match, it might also be the start of a crackling hearth fire.
For now any idea or new project which comes to mind I will jot down in my journal for another day. I will not lose it to fatigue or lack of enthusiasm.

  2. Wow, those spiky coverings on the chestnuts are awesome! I've never seen the outer part (we don't have those trees where I'm from). Love the little beauties inside them too. :)

    1. It is a yearly miracle to be able to find so many of these beauties again.
M has polished them so they are extra shiny for the picture :)

  3. I love hearing about your personal adventure stories Ellen. I was right there with you in my mind! I know exactly that giddy feeling as a kid wanting to fill your pockets all those chestnuts! It's a magical time that fills the creative imagination, especially of children. It's a wonderful thing as adults we can connect and recreate those childhood times again!

    1. It sure is Catherine. After a while I had to be firm with myself or else I would have kept on hoarding more and more and more chestnuts :)

  4. What a lovely way to spend the morning. With your Page of Wands and the fire it brings to the day, I thought of the verse from The Christmas Song..Chestnuts roasting on an open fire... I looked at calendar, September 25, and it's three months to Christmas. Have a great day.

    1. Time flies doesn't it :) I like the Christmas season a lot (without the family obligations) but first I want to emerge myself fully into the pleasures Autumn brings

  5. It must be that Autumnal instinct to forage for the Winter. Or perhaps we were just sweet fluffy tailed squirrels in our other lives! ;)

    1. I think it might be instinctual. Us women are gatherers by nature :)
