I always see the dark Goddess, the Wise One, represented in those old crones who live deep in the forest in those simple little cabins with their herbs and cauldron and lots of books waiting for a lost soul to knock on their door.:)Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02617686222764658629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8158245992923239671.post-59166493723929396152015-03-06T18:39:46.804+01:002015-03-06T18:39:46.804+01:00Ah yes, taking time to swim in the waters of our o...Ah yes, taking time to swim in the waters of our own being. As you say, what treasures may lie beneath the surface? I'm planning a meditation on just that subject tomorrow morning :)Inner Whispershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04577110987784585986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8158245992923239671.post-47019907235198535012015-03-06T18:33:43.539+01:002015-03-06T18:33:43.539+01:00I love the Hermit. She nurses him back to health rocking and comforting him all night long. During the night he begins to get younger and younger in age until he is a baby and then runs jumps off her lap, looks back giving her a big smile, and then runs away.
The old woman had plucked three golden hairs from the child's head before he'd jumped down from her lap, and thrown them into the fire.

The story is about regaining our focus after loosing it, knowing what to throw away, and the hair is symbolic of thought. I did a painting of this, and am going to give it to my friend who is going through that dark night of the soul like the old man had experienced, before finding the cottage in the woods with the old woman, who'd saved him from certain death..Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08478520659409723872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8158245992923239671.post-32392975295525757192015-03-06T16:28:05.604+01:002015-03-06T16:28:05.604+01:00You too Naomi and thank you for stopping byYou too Naomi and thank you for stopping byEllenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02617686222764658629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8158245992923239671.post-51511300088920965422015-03-06T16:16:33.926+01:002015-03-06T16:16:33.926+01:00Seems we are both on similar wave lengths have a g...Seems we are both on similar wave lengths have a good weekend.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8158245992923239671.post-46941457869730610332015-03-06T14:42:58.241+01:002015-03-06T14:42:58.241+01:00Thanks Bev! I suppose I see the Hermit on a solitary search but with a different list. :D Lovely post, Ellen.thesycamoretreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15182019323050600440noreply@blogger.com
